From garden to school
School gardens
What is documented, what was measured and what still needs observation. Explore experiences, check their sources and prepare local data collection.
How to read this evidence
Trials of multicomponent packages do not isolate the garden's effect. Reports do not prove impact.
Described, measured and evaluated indicate what the source documents; they are not quality or causality grades. Read each record's design, sample and limitations.
No demonstrated difference does not mean proof of no effect.
A gap means “not documented in this record”, not the absence of the practice or the absence of an effect.
In the meals dimension, individual consumption measured in studies and supply to the kitchen are distinct outcomes; check each claim's text.
Counts describe documents, mentions and selected records. They do not estimate the prevalence of gardens in schools.

Coverage and method
Municipal overview of growing areas
A garden, growing or agricultural area reported in the Census does not establish that a garden supplies food to the kitchen. The school meal indicator does not measure individual consumption.
Reported percentage = schools with an area / (with an area + without an area) × 100. Schools with no response are excluded from that denominator. Sorting is not a quality ranking.
| Municipality | Area: yes | Area: no | No response | Reported % | Infrastructure in schools with an area |

Purposes and arrangements
Categories described in the sources, not a universal or normative classification. Purposes can overlap; nurseries are an additional propagation component, not a fourth official type. There is no ranking.
Evidence matrix
Combine filters and open a row to inspect its record. The dimension filter selects records documenting it; the matrix keeps all six dimensions visible.
Collection protocols
Use each dimension's question, measure, unit and record to plan observation. These protocols do not replace an impact evaluation.
